This past week Shirley Harding, Scott's mother, left this world. She was surrounded by her sons Mike and Brian, and husband Russ in her final moments after fighting the good fight with cancer for many years. Scott had planned to be with her (physically) in those last moments, but that's not the way it turned out. Shirley was a force of nature, a strong woman who inspired many with her passions and interests. Her spirit is present and will always be in the hearts of her sons, Mike, Scott and Brian.
It was a personal mission of mine to put together the Holy Hardstock!!! event at Christ Church Cathedral, not just as a fund raiser for Scott, which it was, but as a way for Russ and Shirley to see the love in the community that has come together for her son. I was honoured to be able to do that for them, as the evening was very special.
Shirley, we'll all meet again someday, don't know where, don't know when, but we'll meet again.
